Sara Howard, LM, CPM, IBCLC

Sara is a Licensed Midwife (LM), Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has a background in healthcare advocacy, and worked for nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles for ten years before becoming a midwife. Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley.

Sara married her wife in 2011, and together they welcomed their first set of twins in 2014. After experiencing the healthcare system firsthand as a queer pregnant person, Sara rededicated herself to creating a safe place for families to receive competent, personalized care by opening her private practice.

Sara is passionate about ensuring that all families have the information, tools and guidance they need to create their best futures. She takes great joy in being part of people's road to health and parenthood.

Sara and her wife were thrilled to welcome their second set of twins into their family in April of 2019.

Sara is licensed by the Medical Board of California, and certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. She also holds current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP). She is a founding member of the Queer and Transgender Midwives Association, and is a member of the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM), and a Regional Representative for the California Association of Licensed Midwives (CALM). Sara is certified to teach Breastfeeding Without Birthing and supports non-gestational and adoptive parents who would like to induce lactation to breast or chest feed.
